1964 Firetruck! VIN Locations? I'm new.
I should have joined long ago but we sometimes do things to help our friends that we don't get around to doing for ourselves, so my first question is about this; My friend just bought a 1964 firetruck and needs the actual vin to get it titled. Problem is that back during it's tour of duty a brick wall fell on it and all those years ago the cab or most of it was replaced. He told me it appeared to be a 700 or 750 series truck, so I am tentatively assuming it is a F750.
Question; How many places did Ford put the VIN in '64 and where are they ?
I'm hoping it is on the frame somewhere.
Thanks guys,
Your friend, Louisiana

The Warranty Plate could be located on the left door face below the latch, or on the inside of the glove box door.
However, if the plate is on the door, compare the VIN on the Warranty Plate with the VIN on the registration to see if they match.
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they did not install the original Warranty Plate on the replaced door.
Hidden VIN location: Top of the right (passenger) side frame rail-either partially under the cab, or just in front of it. It's prolly covered up with rust and road grime, so it will be hard to read.
The VIN has 11 digits: First 3 is the SERIES code (example: F75 = F750), the 4th digit is the ENGINE code, the 5th is the ASSEMBLY PLANT code.
The last 6 digits is the Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number and decodes to the year.
