New PCM Recal. 11B23

Between my original stock '10 flash and 11B23, I haven't noticed any regen differences.
I know senix gets almost 500miles between regens and he drives freeway/rural routes a lot. I've never gotten more than about 350 miles without a regen on straight 65mph mostly flat freeway runs with a light load!!

I've always suspected they might have lowered the trip point where regens start on the later flashes. Maybe Ford decided it's better to clean out the DPF sooner than originally programmed(??)

But pulling my 5er it will regen about 130 miles on average.

Not being able to find a dealership with knowledge of an update to 11B23 flash, I called Ford Customer Service Tech Support, 888-781-7319, and asked them about it. I was told that there aint one.
I didn't want to believe that due to what I have read on this and other forums so I called them two more times. This resulted in me speaking to three different reps. They all insisted that there is no flash to correct issues initiated by the 11B23 flash. The 11B23 flash is the latest.

I asked them about that and their response was that engineering has the IDS information and that they, tech support, do not. They re-iterated that the 11B23 is the latest flash. It seemed that beyond the flash number itself, IDS numbers were not important to them.
Maybe someone else will call them and pin them down on this as my nickel is wearing a little thin.

Tell them to look up TSB 11-5-17; dated 5/24/2011
It is not being called an update to the 11B23; but it does update any vehicle that got 11B23 between 2/23-5/18 and now gets the overboost code. Anyone that got (or gets) 11B23 after 5/18 (and the dealer has the latest IDS) will automatically get the latest flash.
If you are not getting the overboost while towing heavy or working the vehicle; then they will probably do nothing for you if you got the 11B23 prior to 5/18. If you have a great dealership; then they will just to keep you happy.

I don't think dealers will give you a TSB just for asking it. They'll only apply it if they can verify you have the problem that the TSB fixes since they get reimbursed by Corporate.
[rant] Based on what I see, if you go in demanding it, they will probably act dumb and deny knowledge of anything. Just think of it, if you or I worked in the service dept for a living, and we see hundreds of cars everyday, I'm sure we'll know exactly what's going on!
I have 2800miles of 60/40 city/freeway driving on the original 11B23 flash. So far, no issues. Knocking on the PCM, er, wood.

I have just read all 224 post regarding this pcm update. I can tell you that I have "lemon lawed" four 6.0's. I strongly believe that a lot of my problems with those SD's came when Ford kept flashing and reflashing my computer. I did notice that they robbed horse power from my trucks; especially when towing my race trailer (10k pounds). So I am reluctant to take my 2008, 6.4 in for the 11B23. To be real honest, I don't have any problems with this truck at all. I am a little worried that I hardly ever see it go into regen. -maybe once every 600+ miles. When I take it in for LOF and H20 filter changes, I tell them to absolutley keep that programmer away from my truck. The service manager laughs because he knows the problems I have had. So no updates to this vehicle and everything is fine. My question is, why do I hardly ever see the truck go into regen? I drive 60% city, but when I hit the freeway, I average between 70-90. (It's the racer in me.) I'm thinking that the high rpms keep the DPF clean. Don't know. But I'm with the guys that think, "if it's not broke, don't fix it!" I also, 99% of the time use either Chevron or Shell ULS diesel.-no Quikie Mart fuel for me!
