300 I-6 Power problems
Problem I'm having:
Runs fine when cold (though lacks good take-off power, but I attributed that to being cold). Once engine is warmed up, acceleration is poor at partial throttle. Full throttle and she pulls fine, and you can notice the "jump" in power after I mash it. The "jump" also seems to happen when at partial throttle once the engine RPMs catch up to the throttle position. To explain in detail, if I hold it at partial throttle when trying to accelerate, it'll feel/seem almost bogged down a little like I had a full load in the bed, but then if I keep it at that throttle position for a few seconds, once the engine speed catches up to where it should be for that throttle position, I'll feel the "jump" in power.
I have a Haynes manual and have been reading through it, but haven't had a chance to get under the hood to see the goodies...haven't checked for vaccuum leaks, etc...the manul doesn't go into details on the electronics for emissions controls, so I was hoping someone might shed a little light on this for me.
Thanks! First time poster, bu thave read a lot on this site....great info!
