repairing broken air tubes to Catalytic converter

Okay, I have a 91 F250, starting to get into it to remove and rebuild tranny ( new thread starting soon). First problem is that BOTH air tubes are snapped off at the cat. Already drilled out the broken off flange bolts (that was fun!) and still have to drill off the beroken bolts on the Y pipe. My main deal is has anyone repaired the broken air tubes? My cat is in excellent condition, don't want to shell out 300 plus dollars for a new one, would still have to fix air pipes. Yes, I am strapped financially, most of my funds are going towards the tranny build.
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated!
One more thing...please do NOT post anything involving removing, capping or closing holes...I want this back to original, okay? Thanks!

fresh air... fresh cat?

Have you considered some of the aftermarket cats? I believe you should be able to find one for significantly less than $300. Besides, a 1991 cat still good? Looking at the rusted off nipples it is a good bet that the insides are probably toast as well. This can result in increased back pressure & all the problems it can cause. Unless, of course, there are no guts in this old kitty...

yes, I have looked into after market cats, all well over 300 dollars...and the substrates are fine, this truck only has 47000 miles on it, always used premium unleaded (94 octane) the exhaust was snapped off during a plowing incident, which the driver got the truck stuck on a 4 foot snow pile...snapped the flange bolts, and the pipes vibrated off.
Yes, there is much rust on it, but the pipes did NOT rust off, they actually were holding the cat up...pictures to follow of broken off pipes, and, if you look CLOSELY, you can see that they are not RUSTED off. Like I said, if I can save the money on replacing the cat, I can use it on other truck needed items. Thanks for the reply!

If the metal is still thick enough and hasn't rusted through anywhere, you can tack it back together. Just take your time so you don't blow holes in it.

I would just weld on a nipple and use some high temp silicon hose to connect the two. Had to do the same thing on my 91 F250.

My replacement catalytic converter setup(Cat all the way up to the engine) had a new metal extension tube with the U-shaped couplings that I tightened down to lock it in place.

Looked like on mine though that there was a kickstand that was suppose-to mount to something, that rusted off, and it was just limply kinda on, kinda not on my truck, for what it's worth.

Where would I find some hose that will work? Only silicone hose that I found goes up to 350 deg.
