Question Dual rear shock set up

I own a 05 XLT Screw 4x4. Has anyone tried to do a dual rear shock set up? My truck drops in the rear when I load up my quads and attach my trailer. I could do an add a leaf but thought a dual shock setup might look and perform better. Im going to add traction bars also because I get a lot of hop when the bed is empty and I'm in the sand.

Dual shocks won't help the load level, as shocks are just stabilizers, not weight holders.
You should look into an air bag helper system. That way you can adjust how much psi you need to raise the rear of the truck dependent upon how much weight you have in the bed.

x2 on the shocks not helping the load handling. however i recommend the add a leaf instead of airbags. i have yet to see a helper airbag setup that didnt have problems.
if you are hauling weight often you may also want to look into swapping the rear springs. i believe that you can swap f250 leafs in with very little modification.

I don't share the view that airbags have problems. I've been running Firestone RideRite bags for three years witout a glitch. Many others on this and other sites give similar reports. These bags can be had for about $250 and take about one hour to install without even jacking the truck up. RideRites do everything the Arnotts do, it's just that they are not automatic. To me it's NBD. Certainly not worth $500.

i would say the compressor is what kills the arnott's auto price, it looks like they also sell the non auto for $225. i also cant bring myself to spend $750 on the whole kit unless it was a work truck and had to haul random loads alot.

This is very helpful information. I don't add a lot of weight to my truck or very often. Just one quad in the bed or sometimes 2 quads on a trailer and the bed full of camping gear. It only sags a few inches that's why I thought using dual shocks might help. The airbag setup or leaf swap sounds fairly inexpensive and easy to me. I'll head in that direction. Thanks.
