And 90pioneer said LET THERE BE LIGHT!!!
Finished installing my front lighting setup today. Next up will be aux reverse lights. I have the CREE LEDs in the tail light housings but they just aren't "enough".
The smaller lights are Lightforce Striker 170s, 100w bulbs. Impressive output for their size.
But I wanted more... so I bought a pair of Lightforce 240 Blitz 55w HIDs. For the $650 I spent on these lights I am underwhelmed. Unless it is completely pitch black the light is just too white to be usable. They do throw a lot of light VERY far down the road though.
I wanted more light useable light with better coverage up close and personal, which led me to a 34" 180w LED light bar, combo spot and flood beam. Finished mounting it up today. Made some custom mounts and stuck it in the grill. I think it looks pretty good. The light is INCREDIBLY bright.
I have the lightbar and the 170 Strikers wired to a three way switch, ON-OFF-ON when high beams are turned on. The HIDs are on a separate switch.
I angled the Strikers diagonally so the passenger side one points towards the driver side edge of the road and vise versa. This helps when cornering and works great for seeing animals approaching the side of the road.
I can't wait until it gets dark tonight!

Sadly, I wish it was mine.
I recently moved to Alaska. Housing is extremely expensive. I lucked into renting a 1600 foot square apartment/condo/whatever, essentially the first floor, of the house (6,000 square feet).
The landlords are nice and let me use their garage to work on my truck.

My 50" led light bar is sitting in my back seat right now. I cant wait to get it hooked up...
How wide does it throw and what brand are the lights?
Here is a pic of my 50. The first pic has the headlights on, the second has the bar and headlights.
I bet your set up would light up brighter because the round lights are great for spots.

How and where are you planning to mount your 50"? Is it a Rigid? I want one of those new radial ones they're coming out with.
I got mine off ebay for $225 shipped

The only difference I can spot between this lightbar and a Rigid is the different size and the wiring lead just have stripped wires instead of a plug.
I would bet a large sum that this lightbar is produced at the same factory Rigids are.

Rigid assembles their bars in house, but the hard parts like the housing, lenses etc probably come from a similar factory. I know my bar uses many of the same parts, I just cant speak for yours specifically.
One big difference is the LED used. Rigid uses CREE LEDs as well as some other more expensive brands. Mine uses CREEs. The cheaper ones use Epistars, which is fine, they are just a cheaper version that puts out a bit less light.
Before I got my 50" bar I had a bar I got off of Amazon very similar to yours. It also had Epistar LEDs and it was a fine bar. I just upgraded. As long as yours meets your wants then its a good bar
Rigids markup is ridiculous IMO. They are good bars, and their patented optics are good, but not worth what they charge, not to me. But those radius bars are very cool looking.

Mine come from LEDWarehouse.com. They are assembled in California (although the guy I met did tell me some parts do come from overseas, he said its financially unavoidable.)
