Looking for a take off bed in the mid west

Hey guys been a while since I posted.

Unfortunately I had a bit of an accident on some black ice in the early AM last week on my way to plow. I was on an interstate in IL and hit some black ice and pulled a 180 degree turn...with my 7x14 enclosed trailer.

SO needless to say, im looking for a new bed. I would prefer a 2008-10 take off bed from a utility body place or the like but am open to others.

If any of you guys near IL in IN, MO, OH, MI, WI, etc. know of anything, let me know. The truck body places around here only have Chevy beds for some reason.

Thanks
Nic

Use car-part.com for your search, but I think this should be put in classifieds...not here.

There are several new take off beds on car-part.com. I looked before I replied to your post. Of course I'm assuming you are looking for a long bed, based on your sig?????

thanks

I have not always had such good luck with car-part.com

It is not all that user friendly and some of the places that advertise their parts on their are not helpful when called. I will give it a second chance.

I have bought many cars and parts from Fierge over the years. Randy is the owner, and hs father started it many years ago. They lose more parts to weather than most salvage yards ever have to begin with. They are not always the cheapest, but they are usually in line with any other salvage.....and they usually have what you are looking for unless it is odd ball. David is the head guy there under Randy. Give him a call. Delta Auto Parts in Portageville MO is also a good place to deal with if you are willing to go that far. They are $350.00 cheaper than Fierge on their bed. Collin or Jerry can help you there. I do business with them too...actually I deal with them more than Fierge since they are much closer to me. Also, the Y-Yard in Effingham IL, or Bill Smith in Danville IL may be able to help you too. I don't think they had one listed on car-part.com, but sometimes they have it, or can get it anyway.

Check out Scherer Truck Equipment in Riverside, MO.
I used to work for them about 25 yrs ago but they are still there doing the same thing.....Putting utility bodies on pickups. Most they get direct from Ford there in KC that are just Cab and Chassis, but they do get a few here and there that require taking the regular bed off before installing the new utility bed. Used to put the beds out in the yard and save them for whatever.
