300 i-6
they made the c-6 to boltup to a lot of engine combos. if your looking for a bullet proof workhorse, very reliable truck, get a granny low gear stick.

You can do it, in fact, I'm doing it on my 78 F250.
You will need to get some 300 I6 4x4 engine mounts off of another 79.

The tranny will not bolt up. The 300, 302, 351W and 351C share the same bellhousing, and the 351M/400 and 460 share the same bellhousing.
