Anyone have any experience with them? I purchased my first TT and will be taking delivery on Monday. Everything seems to be going very well....I guess I'm just kinda hoping the other shoe doesn't fall. Should I be worried?
I bought my first 5th wheel from General. I had good luck with him. I just hope you beat them up on the price. For example my Avalanche 340tg "list price" was about 52k. I paid 36k. There is an outrageous mark up on trailers. Other then being aware of that I think you will be fine with them. I even had them rush some warranty work when a landing gear binded and need replaced. I was scheduled to leave the next day and they ordered my part went and picked it up and repaired 5er by mid day. I was very impressed by that.
Im from Mi so it was easy for me to go and check out the dealer.
Good luck and congrats on the new trailer.

scotts right. the walk thru (pdi) is very important. take a video camera along or at least a pen and paper. it will be alot to absorb.
Or better yet, Most new cell phones (androids) have voice recorders, camcorders on them....you can just walk around with your cell phone recording everything they tell you and its always on your phone when you need it. Of course copy it to your computer for a back up.
I'm getting a travel trailer from there too. So far so good, the sales guy really knew a lot about the trailer we wanted, 2011 312 Outback bunkhouse.
Have not signed any paper yet just a deposit, bought it at the RV show last month. The only thing I have heard about them is the service dept. Not that they are bad just pretty slow at getting warranty work done.
My sales guy did say to plan on about 3-4 hours to take delivery, as they go over every little thing on the trailer with you. And that includes how to trailer it, set it up, pack up, and everything in between.
What general are you going through. I went through the one in Wixom. As posted above my landing gear quit on me and actually was binding and couldnt even manually raise them. I had to jack up the whole trailer and raise each leg using only the pin holes. I drove 3 hours to dealer they had my trailer back to me by the next day so I could leave on my trip. Guess it all depends.

I am going through the dealer in White Lake. Everything seems to be great so far, but they want a sale. I felt very comfortable with our salesman, he didn't push us to buy a new trailer or something bigger than we need. I'm hoping I get the same service should I have to come back for any issues.
I have no experience with them as far as service. That is just what other people have told me about them. My parents have a membership at Outdoor adventure and I was picking a lot if brains before I committed to buying one. So maybe things have changed, hopfully they have. I am looking forward to camping this year and don't want any more problems then what my family will cause. I am going to get my Outdoor Adventure membership on Sunday, buy it from someone on Craigslist, got it for $7000 off.

Im also in the Detroit area and would recommend against the Outdoor Adventure membership. We have a couple of great KOA's in the area as well as other campgrounds. Port Huron KOA is great, Monroe KOA, Petosky KOA, Duck Creek Rv Resort to name a couple. I have young kids and they love these places. Iv never been to an Outdoor Adventure so maybe I shouldnt say this. But we have had a blast at the KOA's and it usually runs about 70 bucks for two nights. Cant beat that. Now if you dont have kids maybe KOA's arent what you are looking for. We love them becuase of the activities for the kids and always very friendly folks running them. The petosky koa is only 20 minutes from Charleviox which is an amazing little like town. Only 40 minutes to the bridge. Again Ive never done the OA thing but have heard its crazy expensive and limits where you can camp.

I have never been to a KOA or an OA for that matter. The OA seems a bit "touristy" for me...my daughter is too young at 2 to take advantage of places like that. The KOA's seem to be a bit less touristy than an OA site.
