Hey guys new member. Have been searching and searching for answers on how to pair a 429 and t18 with no avail. First of all is this even possible? Do they make a bell housing that bolts directly to a 385 series engine and a t18? If they do make the bellhousing what else would I need to get to transfer the t18 over? I found a 429 bell housing on eBay with and "x pattern" on the transmission end. Called the guy and he said it would fit a t18 but would like to know for sure if it will fit. Haven't yet dropped the tranny to see what the pattern looks like yet. Thank you for you help and advice!

A np435 bellhousing wil work if you drill and tap the offset lower left hole. Every thing else is the same.

 

One more thing I'm assuming that it is a t18 cause that's what a friend said it could be. Is it possible that it might be a np435? What did 75 360 4x4s come with stock? Thanks!

 

Either one. More likely a np435. If it has an aluminum top it's a np435. If it's all cast iron it could be a t18 or 19.

 

Just looked and it is a np435. Also found out that I have a a C9VE-B block with D0VE-C heads which I heard were the best to have. Besides the bell housing, what else do I need to look for? fly wheel, clutch ect.? What other 385 series parts will work with the 429?

Could be wrong but I am prety sure 429 and 460 clutch, flywheel etc. Are the same.
