Temp sensor?? in spider leaking boost

I've been having trouble getting over about 20psi of boost, so I finally got around to checking for boost leaks. Thanks Jim!! (rat49f6)

Anyway, we found some leaks - including the sending unit in the 5-way plenum/spider. The sensor itself was leaking, not the threads. So, I never paid attention to WHAT that thing is or what it does and since it is apparently BROKEN - now I wanna know!! WHAT IS IT??? Whats it do???

(oh, a part# would be nice too!!)

Now I'm up to 25-27psi with even FASTER spool-up, but not sure we've fixed all the leaks... Hoping we can throw the boost leak detector back on this weekend and maybe find more leaks.

Intake temperature sensor.
Not sure how important it is but it's there for something.
Maybe Cleatus can chime in on this one.

It is the Charge Air Temp Sensor (post intercooler)

Intake Air Temp Sensor (pre intercooler) is attached to air box, if you till have an air box.

PCM uses them both to adjust, at the least, SOI timing and PW as part of fuel mapping.

If you monitor them both while running you can see what type of temp drop the IC is acheiving.
Also a way to see if the money you spent on an upgrade IC was really worth it.

Edit: There are no relays associated with the charge air temp sensor.
