About 2-3 inches on the driveway this morning. Really wet and heavy stuff.
Good thing the major storm didn't hit as predicted. My snowblower broke a couple weeks ago. The impeller shaft that drives the auger sheared off from the spider gear inside the auger differential. Took about an hour or so of searching, but finally found the part. $175 for the auger shaft assembly alone. It's been a great snowblower otherwise. 25" dual stage 8HP. Not excited to spend the time and money on it since I only paid $80 for it AND a 3HP tiller.
Picked up my grandparents' old snowblower. It's about 25 years old, but hasn't run for the last 10 or 15 years. My Dad kept saying there were carb parts missing. Got it home .. nothing missing. Disassembled the carb, threw it in a bucket of carb cleaner for about 48 hours. Put it all back together last night. Fired up first time (after I remembered to turn the key "on"). Unfortunately, it sat so long, all of the oil seals are dry and gone. Idles way too fast and leaks oil like a sieve (I can watch it pour out the bottom of the engine). Oh well .. only spend $18 for the Carb Kit. Should get me through the rest of the season at least.
Yeah .. but I can't really complain about the prices much. Better than buying a brand new one.
I saw a couple of opportunities on MPLS Craigslist last night that I'm thinking about .I could get two fully working snowblowers for about $85 plus fuel costs (about $45 round trip from my house). I could easily get my money out of either one of them.
YAY!!!
Only a dusting here, no more snow, no more snow, no more snow!!!

Good morning Michael.
Sucks about the snowblowers but hopefully you won't need to use them any more this year.
I got to know lawnmowers pretty dang well last summer. Kinda made a hobby/side business out of buying and fixing riding mowers. Most of the time, it was just carb cleaning, cleaning up the magneto and putting the jigsaw puzzle back together. I still have two sitting in the yard that need to be finished and sold. I had 6 riding mowers in the garage at one point last year. 4 Craftsman, 1 Murray, 1 Dixon Zero Turn. My garage was starting to smell like a shop. Wife didn't mind since I was making a little money with them.
Snowblowers are just another small engine/simple machine extension of lawnmowers. Thought about continuing the side business with snow blowers. They're a bit more expensive and with my truck in the garage, there is no room to store them much less work on them.
