96 F-150 thermostat
I have a 1996 F150 inline six 5 speed . Today i noticed my temp gauge rise from its normal pos. ( straight up and down ) and rise to just below the H but still in the normal range. Then as i drove a little more it would go down and rise again. My truck has also been idling fairly high recently for an unknown reason (a day or two) . Any Ideas as to what you think this could be, the thermostat or just fluids, please let me know. Thank you in advance. Greatly appreciated.

First off, Welcome to F.T.E!
Second, check not only the fluid level, but the protectant parameters. (Antifreeze can always look green, but lose it's efficiency.)
*How long has this been happening?*
Last tune-up? Change of weather, etc...
Please keep in touch here, and let us know. I wouldn't call it a fluke just yet. (Could also be an air pocket that let go in the block...)

Thanks for the welcome. And its only been happening for a few days now. and we put new fluid in just this past summer. i added more this morning before i left for school and it still happened. The next thing on my list is an oil change, im a little past due maybe a week or 2. Im going to do that within the next few days. If those two things dont do it, do you recommend doing the thermostat change?
