Rusty floorboards and memories

Today, I was helping my son put a stereo system in my 92. We removed the seat and vinyl floor covering and found a fair bit of rust. Welded in some patch panels and used POR-15 on the entire floor. I've taken very good care of my Ford and didn't think it had any rust but was wrong. I remember driving him home in it from the hospital 18 yrs ago after he was born. Our family has had some great times with it. Now with a new paint job it's his. What a great pickup it has been. 300-6 5 speed all original other than normal wear items. Anthony

Hope your son appreciates it. I know i would. I have my dads 83 that i'm going to put back on the road. He absolutely loved that thing. But in my case it was last on the road 93 - 94 ish. I'm the same age as your son, and sadly i don't remember riding in it. But i do remember seeing it in the yard for years, and going in the cab and seeing the frizz bees my dad had put in the back of the seat. It is the only vehicle my dad had bought brand new, and i know he would love to put it back on the road if he had the time and money. I will make him proud.

ill tell you as a son of a ford owner and having a 72 that was passed down to me as "our" project, that i appriciate it. to the point where i wont touch it until i can do it right. haha. its gonna be our toy i love sitting down and bsing about the cummins swap planned and the old time we had goin to the lake and up to meet my granpa his dad for the first time. or driving around parking-lots and reving that 390 through cherry bombs and laughing at how many car alarms would go off.
so with that said im sure hell love that ol ford and make a helluva lot of good times, along with some "dumb" decisions. just be ready with a tow strap and a pregnancy test. haha

my 1994 f150 was handed down to me almost 3 years ago after my first f150 went to the scrap yard i hated it at first cause i went from a 302 to a 300 but as i drove it i thought of all the fishing trips hospital visits and just driving around with my dad and know with him passing away last december it means just that much more to me so it wont be going no where for as long as i live

My moms trucks is on it third or fourth box. the cab needs to be replaced because it has rusted out too much to try and even save. going to put the cab on in the spring along with fenders and a radiator support. the truck just keeps going. the engine needs to be replaced or overhauled. the 85 will probably not be sold for a long time.
