What size truck do you have and what wheels? Sixteen inch hubcaps will be much harder to acquire than 15's but they are around. Crown Vics had them from late 90's to around 2004 if you're looking for something Ford. Ford trucks (3/4 ton) from 1988 to 92 had 16 inch hubcaps. Surely those would cover the axle stub. What hubcaps did you have in mind? I ran 56 Cadillac caps on my 48 but they were 15's. Then there's a lot of aftermarket 16 inch caps. Check Ebay...

how about this

Would like to get caps called racing discs? smooth saucer looking , have seen them advertised for 16" wheels, just don't know if they will cover back axle stub. Truck is 250, and now has '69 250 rear axle.

I'd say that if the end of the axle-stubs are a bit recessed from the outermost part of your rim,it should work.
