Can new exhaust increase HP & torque
I just traded in my 2007 F150 for a 2011 F350 King Ranch with a 6.2L V8 Gas. I was looking at the specs and it indicates that my peak HP is 385 and peak torque is 405. Is there an aftermarket exhaust sytem I can install that will increase these numbers without voiding my warranty? I will be towing an 8000# camper this summer.

Im sure the new 6.2 flows probably as good as it can. On the older trucks swapping out the Y pipe for a performance one helped but was not a big HP contributor.
Regardless i don't think theres much of anything yet available for your 2011. Any performance full dual or cat back system is pretty much just going to make it sound nicer or more anoying (depending on how you view loud/er exhaust systems). It will do very little if anything at all in the MPG area as well but tends to make it worse because your more likely to put your foot in it more cause you like how it sounds. Again you won't find any direct fit aftermarket packages that fit the 2011. You would have to buy your mufflers etc.. and have a shop fab it all up for you.
Depending on your dealership, some can be **** and use every excuse to not cover your items so call them first before and if you do any mods. If you need more power you could try a tuner but i would get a few miles on her first. In addition not sure how many outfitts have added the 6.2l to their list. I know 5-star tunning and SCT is the favs for the 5.4l.

There are some catback exhaust systems on the market for the 6.2l in the SD currently. You will more than likely pick up a very small increase in performance and will pick up some extra sound. With a pre engineered catback your warrenty should be fine however you could ask your dealer. Looks like Gibson, Banks and maybe Corsa currently makes a system for the 6.2l SD. Take a look down in the 6.2l section for more info and pics.
