1998 Expedition (5.4L V8) Connecting Rod Bolts
Recently a head gasket went out on my wife's 98 Expedition. It ran out of oil and by the time she told me about it 'sounding funny' she had driven it about 10 miles and it had a rather bad knock.
Anyways, so I dropped the oil pan and saw pieces of a connecting rod bearing in the pan. I went through and removed all the connnecting rod caps and checked the bearing. The two bearing furthest back were almost completely gone. While the others had wear from, what I'm guessing, running too hot/with out oil.
I ordered a set of bearings and they arrived today. I was going to put them on, and noticed my Haynes Rebuild Manual for the trucks says the bolts are TTY.
Where do I buy replacement bolts? Here are the places that DON'T CARRY replacement TTY connecting rod bolts:
NAPA Auto Parts
Advance Auto Parts
AutoZone
O'Reilly Auto Parts
Carquest
RockAuto Auto Parts
I found another site that said I'd have to buy all new pistons to get new bolts.
I'm already financially strained as my wife got fired this week for missing too much work since our schedules overlap and she can't always get a ride to work due to where we live.
If anyone can help me locate some bolts ASAP that would be wonderful.

I don't think the dealer is the only place that has them. But you may have to buy a more expensive performance bolt.
Try this.
