fair price for a bare frame for a 56

As the title states, I am in need of a stock replacement frame for my 56 pickup project. While I'm sure that I will be able to locate a suitable replacement at some point, I am not so sure what a fair price for one might be. I'd prefer to buy just the bare frame, but I can see a scenario where I might end up with something more than that. So what is the general consensus on the value of something like this?

I'm in Maryland if it makes any difference..

John

Here is one with an engine on our classified forum.

It really all depends on the shape of the frame and location...

Haha, I saw that post just a few minutes after I posted this thread.. I should have searched the classifieds a little better than skimming the titles. If that guy was closer (I live in MD), I would probably be a buyer for that price.

In terms of the shape and location, I would be looking to travel no more than a hundred miles or so, and I would be looking for a complete, stock frame with minimal or no cracking.

At any rate, I think this answers my question. I probably shouldn't pay more than a few hundred bucks for a frame in good condition.

I have seen them run anywhere from FREE to $350. I got one from another member in our truck club for free, he bought an aftermarket chassis and just wanted this one out of his driveway. They always seem to pop up when you don't need one...
