Put the 6.2 on the dyno

So with close to 1,500 miles on our new 2011 F-250 I decided to put it on the dyno. Now the wife asked me why? Best I could come up with was, "Because I can." LOL!

Dyno number came in at 301 RWHP and 328 RWTQ... so right about where I would expect. This was on Alternative Auto's DynoJet.

Here is the sheet. Zoom for a better view:

I also did a little data logging on one of the pulls...

Ok.. the data log screen is really wide... to see it check this link: http://www.johnnystacks.com/gallery/...no_datalog.jpg

And finally... I did get some video:

Sweet, That has a nice roar to it, cool vid.

If I may ask, I will be doing mainly 59 Mph, at what? 1800 RPM? in 6st.
What would be the numbers you think.

at 1,8000 RPM.. not a lot! This guy definitely likes to get some RPMs! Which of course is not something the diesel guys, including myself, are used to!

Yep... just the Airaid... but to be totally fair I should have dyno'd the truck with the hood closed... and should have done both stock and Airaid. HOWEVER I'm really not worried about if the Airaid adds power... it really seems to have helped my MPG. I had 1,000 miles on the truck when I put the Airaid on. For that 1,000 miles the truck said my avg MPG was 12.2. I reset the MPG when I put the Airaid on. I have about 600 miles on the Airaid and my MPG is now 13.4. Of course this is not scientific, but I tend to drive the same routes and drive the same way... so for me, I'm pretty sure it has improved my gas mileage and I figure will pay for itself in about 12,000 miles or so due to gas savings... and then there is the savings on buying air filters! LOL

If I can find a dyno around here I'll have to try and do a before and after. It would be nice to see how much is actually gained.

If not I eventually will probably get around to doing it...

oh.. and I don't think Lidio was planning on dynoing big truck when he put his dyno in... I'm almost on top of the D-rings... and I actually stuck out past his inside door so he couldn't close it:

I see you folded in your mirrors for less wind resistance.

Biggziff: What the blinking on and off. Just the truck going through the gears and the hood flopping in the breeze.

interesting theory... however, the truck at that point was not going through the gears! And hood doesn't really appear to be moving at all... BTW.. I did upload the HD version so you can watch it full screen on youtube...

so now I guess I have to put my shoes and coat on and go outside and look! LOL

I was hoping for better numbers than that. The f-150 with the 5.0 is dyno 311hp 325 torque.
