I've always liked the look of a great truck. Please allow me to post a couple more:

I plucked these off of either here or the HAMB, I forget which.

I've seen these 2 trucks over the years and thought they were the coolest trucks I've ever seen. It shows the age of the trucks and their character. Its just cool. It also shows that one can put maybe half or less of the budget of a "BIG TIME" flashy restoration and come out with something truly awesome. Yeah the $20-30,000 trucks do look good, but just don't touch these trucks "COOL" wise. Its almost like pulling a flathead powered model T next to a lamborghini at a car show....which one will get more attention....

Absolutely, I could not agree with you more,………………..but I think you intended to say 30,000 to 50,000 dollars

I agree. I have over 20 in my 48 and it is FAR from shiny or even having any interior. It costs a lot of money to look this cheap

Thumbs up lofomoco

lo,
you said that you pulled some springs out, and de arched 2 inches and moved
the front spring hanger forward one inch.
had you flipped your rear on top of your springs, or was this done with the
springs on top of the rear.
i have about the same set up, but i flipped my rear to get the drop and had
to put hangers on to raise it back up some and it stiffened it up too much...
tks,ashlandcat..
you had a great looking truck....

Great truck man. i saw it on the net a while back and i loved it...specially the stenciled stuff....i love that you left he rust spots there.
I have a question tho.I have the volare front end from a chrysler and i want to go lower but the cross member and the driver side torsion rod hit the ground first ,if i go too low.
Does spindles help me avoid this?

Thanks for the compliment.
Yes, I removed all but the longest 4 or 5 springs and had them de-arched 2 inches....then I moved the front spring hanger UP about an inch....it was flush with the top of the frame rail...The ride quality was actually very good....After is was all put together the rear springs were basically flat...Had I flipped the rear I would have had to put lift hangers on it. The problem is when you go too low it is a pain in the **** to take off the rear wheels...Don't get me wrong....the lower the better. Good luck with yours...

Thanks man...the truck had a lot of character...It was a conversation piece for sure..

I had the same problem with the Torsion bar set up on mine. Not a lot of clearance under the truck at all. I had more clearance before I put the dropped spindles on it.....but it wasn't low enough. Good luck.

Correct. It does cost a lot to look this cheap. Everybody that looked at mine thought it could be bought for $2500.00....NOT

That should be the quote of the year

Some people will never understand when they see a truck like that and what I really took to get that thing hitting the road. Keep those pics coming if you have more...nothing like gear head ****.
