1991 F250 4x4

Just purchased a '91 F250 4x4 that is in immaculate condition. I will be using it to pull livestock trailer and haul feed. I am wondering if I can improve mileage and performance with one of the "chips" on the market?
Thanks,
Gary

Off the shelf chips for this vintage truck is a complete waste of money and time.

The truck has the 5.4 engine and 3.73 rear end. I am not computer enough to post photos. It will be used as a ranch truck but is in like new condition.

A '91 with the 5.4? They didn't come like that in '91. It's either a 5.0 or 5.8 if it's a small block V8.

Chips for an otherwise stock gas engine from the early 90s and late 80s are pretty worthless. If you want a little more power you're better off messing with timing a little bit and upgrading your ignition system

They also didn't come with 3.73 gears; so it looks like someone's done an engine and gear swap.

Gary...
Saying that it has a "3.73 rear" has me worried? Does it not also have 3.73s in the front? If not, you'd better not be using 4wd until you get some.

Dummy me it is a 2001 model with the 5.4 and 3.73! What is ten years when you have been around as long as I have.
Adios,
Gary
