1962 F100 Parts Manual

The 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is available on a CD from hipoparts.com.
You do not want the individual year parts catalogs (if you can find any), because...they aren't worth two cents.
Ford sent these bound paper catalogs to the dealers every August. These have so many errors and omissions, that when we receved them, they went out the very same day...in the trash.

J = 223 1V I-6.
N = Norfolk VA Assembly Plant.
220528 = 1962 ~ Assembled October 1961.
114" Wheelbase.
F = Baffin Blue.
F101 = F100 2WD, 4,200 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
A = Ford 3 Speed Manual Light Duty Transmission.
11 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 3.70-1 / non Limited Slip / 3,300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.
Note: If the truck is titled as a 1961, at one time some states registered vehicles in the year they were first sold new, not by the actual model year of the vehicle.
Some states had two designations on their titles: Year Sold & Year Model.
Historically since the 1930's, new vehicle introduction time begins in September of the previous year, so new vehicle assembly begins in late July or August.

Welcome to the FTE I have a 62 integral (Unibody) as well, mine was painted FM Baffin Blue and Corinthian white, made in June 62. Did all the exterior parts come with the truck? You will most likely have to pull the drums and replace the wheel cylinders, and soft brake lines. The master cylinder may be shot as well. Looks like a beauty of a truck congratulations on the find.

In your guys opinion, which cd rom is better, the Hipo parts or the gear head cafe version? The hipo version covers 57-63 , and the gear head covers only 61-63. The big difference I see is one is 20, and one is $40. Anyone had experiences with these?

Hi STeve, the Parts manual is different than the shop manual. The parts manual is better with disassembly and reassembly....also, if your truck has been 'repaired' by the previous owner(s), it's a great way to check to see how it was originally put together. The repair manual is for step by step shop repairs, like tune ups, brake work, etc., and doesn't always help with the way things are assembled and parts required.
I have both, and have used both. I will note, though, that neither has a good illustration/explanation for the torque box and bed drainage.....something that seems important (see my other post about bed restoration).
