Which way do they go?

Hi all,
I was just finishing up a build on my FE and for the life of me can not remember which way the rubber insulators that mount to the engine mounts are suppose to face. Does the backing plate that wraps around the rubber to three sides and not on one go towards the front. I tried to get a picture on but had no luck. Any help is appreciated

There's a few different types of mounts, but.......

Who am I kidding....I don't know.

But I do know a trick to finding out. If these are the original mounts, or you still have the original mounts, look at the pattern on one of the mounts. There's usually a stain or rust or something on the face that goes to the frame support. Now match up the stain or pattern to the same stain/ pattern on the frame support.

If that doesn't work, try to post a pic of the mount and I'm sure it's familiar to someone here.

Meanwhile....I'll go look in my old Ford Manual...........

EDIT: Back again. Maybe this pic will help (although none of them look like my mounts):

Samething happened to me, I thought I had them correct. Set the motor in and they were backwards. Trial and error prevailed.
