Thanks for that info.

Glad to hear it is coming next week.
I bet the reason why it took longer was that you ordered just before Christmas and New Years. I'm sure the plant in Kentucky slowed down a little.
Anway its on its way!

Mine came on a truck and not rail. I think it takes longer via rail. The person told me on the phone that it would be there on Monday then I got a call from the dealer the next day on Wed morning that it was there.

i ordered my truck (F250 C/C Lariat 4x4 off road package) on 4 Feb 2011 and the dealer that i ended up ordering it through told me to plan on 8-12 weeks for it to get here but all the other dealers in my area said 6-8 so i am hoping they were just erring on the side of caution but i have yet to hear anything else other then my order has been placed.

How long did it take most of you to get the first set of information back from the dealer? and did things role fairly quickly from there?

personally didnt hear from the dealer.. i called the customer service number. they asked for some info off that sheet that had all the order information. They told me the Vin number and the status.. I have herd that it takes a couple weeks before the vin is issued..
But i ordered mine months ago, just never got a chance to call till now.

edit: and yes. im pretty sure mine took the time it did because of when i ordered. I herd of a plant shut down during Christmas or something as well. dunno how true that is.
Mine is in Illinois somewhere as well.

Good news! They added two weeks to delivery date, now 3rd week in march, a little longer and I can pay this thing off in cash.

At least there will be less snow, salt and other crap on the road and I don't really need it untill mid april.

Order Update

Getting a little more excited...ordered my truck 2/11/11, got a call from New Brighton Ford MN that my truck will begin getting built on 2/28/11. Still many weeks away from delivery.

F350 6.2L SD Lariet 3.73 axle....some other ad-on's for future posts.

That is great news. I placed my order on the 2/15 and maybe I should hear something by 3/4 that my truck is started to be built.
Next step would be you recive a VIN# so you can track it.

Have you negotiated a final price yet? I was told that after the truck arrives we can negotiate the final price.

You should try to find someone with an X Plan pin they can spare. It ended saving me a thousand dollars on truck price and doc fees, over the previously agreed to price. And no haggling required.
