Straightening truck bed
Hello
Sorry maybe I'm dumb but didnt see f250 section but I'm assuming it's not much different. We had at our work truck some wanna be street racer smash into the backend. Obviously this being a 1998 f250 we needed a new axle he needed a new car. The thing is we dont want to bother with a body shop. If we screw it up we screw it up. We bought this truck for $800 canadian about 5 years ago and has treated us very very well. The mechanic who basically donated his time (work shop neighbour) said he no longer has proper tools to bend it back as he doesnt do body work. He also said it's simple enough to do and best bet is just look online. Even if we can get it relatively straight we would love to try it out.
Thanks!

You could try the old redneck way of taking mobile home anchors setting them in the ground and attaching a chain and winch and try that way.
Your tailgate can be begotten into from taking the plate off the backside and gentle shove/toilet bowel plunger (Don't ask, you would not believe the stuff you see) to get most of it out.
On the winch thing, you take the anchors and set them in the ground about two feet apart with the last being under the part you want to bend and run the cable under the bolts with the cable rolling off the last bolt up to where you set it to the frame. Set the truck with the winch so it will not move and add an anchor to the other side of the frame (truck working on) and chain off so the truck will set. Then slowly use the winch to pull down the bed frame. Move the truck back and forth from the last anchor to get the truck set as you want. Yep, a lot of rednecks went into that answer after watching some guys fixing their trucks.
The bumper is not the easiest as all you need is a telephone pole and gently back your bumper where it is bent into the pole. Then take a hydraulic jack with a 2x4 on the top place at the bottom of the bumper and bend back in shape. Take the pushed under part and take 2x4/4x4 wood and winch again to adjust as needed.
Need better pictures to tell you how to use the wood and winch better.
Long live the Redneck ways of doing stuff on the cheap.

Update: did above as other mechanic over had a device to bend the frame back. Looks almost perfect now.
