I own a 2003 f250 superduty v8 gas. I have a buzzing noise that comes and goes. It comes from the dashboard area around the steering column. However it goes away when either I press on the brakes, hit the signal or press my tow brake control.. And I could go days and not here it then it will be there for a few days and then it goes away again...
I have the same issue. I searched for "buzzing" and found a few threads related to relays under the dash and possible loose connectors to relays under there. I followed mine and the buzzing is located somewhere just alongside where the 4x4 shifter is. I need to figure out how to get to them.
Def sounds like a relay... Just need for it to warm up so I could work on it... But its funny how it sometimes goes away for days or even more.. weird..
I have this issue too...although it seems related to the ventilation system as I noticed today that if the wind gusts the tone will change slightly if it happens to be buzzing. Wish I knew how to take the dash top off so I could see in there...
Think I found it! Hope my research helps others...
The sound is like a "kazoo" sound.
Here is a link to something I found on another forum with an example of the sound. His intensity is MUCH worse than mine and a slightly different tone...but it is the same sound.
