I have swapped from backets to a bench. here is a thread I made about the differences: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...l-it-work.html
It should be easy for you on the '05 it will have all the bolt holes in place. You just need to find a matching bench seat and the center seatbelt

IMHO....
Before you decide if you think you NEED to swap, be sure and try it out....
I THOUGHT I needed buckets and had them in my 1st 2 ex's, but the bench seems to function better and is much more comfortable (to me and mine )
Only benefit I saw in the buckets was the ability for the kids to pass through instead of climb over.... and kids LOVE to climb
YRMV !

Trade
I have a bench from a 2000 excursion with only 51,000 miles that is beige in color. I would love to trade for two bucket seats of the same color for the second row. Email Arniesexcavating@yahoo.com

I have 2 captains chairs from my 2002 Ford Excursion Limited, in tan leather, that I would like to trade for a 2nd row bench seat in the same tan leather. Any takers?
