bad bad bad miss

89 ford f250 351w 4x4 5 speed. driving home from work one day, the truck started runnning like crap. got home and popped the hood. i can watch the engine rock so hard it will touch fender wells on both sides. i put plugs, wires, distr cap, rotor button. those parts did not change anything.. i really need this truck running. i know there are a ton of other things that would cause this problem. i am just trying to elimitate the guess work and the killer time. trying to find some one who has had similar problems and how they fixed it

Check the Harmonic Balancer to see if it's still working (if it looks like it has leaked any fluid or the concentric rubber is coming out, consider it broken). Also check the engine mounts (get under the truck, try pushing and moving the engine).

My uncle had a miss problem with his 351. We replaced the fuel filter on the frame rail, cap, rotor button, plugs and wires. Those all helped but didn't cure it. A guy at work said something about a pickup coil or something like that? I'm not totally sure. Hope this helped.
