Carb Problems again ?

Carb Problems again ?
Hello,
First thanks to all that helped me get my truck running rite in the past turned out to be the choke. Installed a new manual choke and fixed the problem. Now I got a new problem..........My truck wont start without starting fliud or carb cleaner sprayed down the throat of the carb. Is this just an adjustment problem or another choke problem? The carb is the Autolite 2bbl 1.21 / Also I have a very bad shake when I let off the gas after going about 50 or 55 if anyone knows what may be causing that u joints seemed tight?

I may have got lucky
Ok, Today while checking Craigslist I found a 351M with a Performer Intake and a Edelbrock 4bbl Carb on it that the guy said wasn't very old. He only wants $200 dollars for the whole thing. If the Intake isn't cracked and the carb is decent does anyone think I can go wrong with this deal?

Sounds like a choke problem, empty fuel bowl, or a vacuum leak. The deal sounds good, but I'd at least try and solve the problem first before getting something else, in case the problem happens to be elsewhere.

Had a 77 F250 400/2 bbl had a similar prob with starting only start with a shot in carb - found out it was the computer box on fender. needed only 3 wires to run other 4 of 7 were easy starts etc. Other 4 wires went out first so it would still run. Pulled box - checked found it was failing-- Parts guy said it hardly happens that way they usualy just go out. Murfy was with me that day lol
