Quite a few of the 53-56 fire trucks are F600's. And the F600 fenders don't look too shabby on a F250/F350 4x4! It gives it more of the big truck look. Just look at my sig pic.

Like I said, if the later models are like the '48-52 trucks, the F-250 share the same fenders as the F-650 so he could use them and not look any different, but I could be wrong. Anyone know for sure?

Ilya,

I didn't realize that you were referring to the insignia on my parts truck. Those doors have three nice coats of shiny urethane paint on them for 15 years. The insignias came off real nice and fast with some 180 grit sand paper on the DA

If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure on the 53-56 only certain F250/F350's shared the same fenders as the F600's. I think it depended on the year and what size wheels/tires the trucks were equipped with. Number Dummy would know this for sure. I can't keep all this info straight. I'm lucky if I can remember my name. I know the 56 F250 I had did not have the same fenders as a F600! I wish it did!!

Yeah, I really don't know much about the newer trucks at all. I have a parts catalog but I haven't looked in it to see what is what when it comes to the newer trucks. I have enough trouble trying to keep track what Ford did in the Bonus Built years. They basically didn't have any set in cement rules for a lot stuff back then either.

If they're 20" there's a good chance that they're Widow Makers and you won't want them. If you're not sure post some pictures if you get it. Stu the wheel expert, he'll let you know.

Ken - They will not fit. F-500/600s had 6 lug x 8.75" bolt circle. Yours are 6 lug x 7.25" circle. Stu

Stu and I have had the talk about widow's I pulled one of mine apart to see..and put it back together..and it still works..20 inch wheels are easier to find then 17s..I wasn't smart enough to walk away from this truck when she was covered with moss.an I don't think I'm smart enough to worry about 5o year old wheels that have worked just fine till now...it is just one more thing I can learn to do to take care of my small corner of history..but that will be a new thread..

Looking through my parts catalog, it shows 2 different front fenders for 53-55 (presumably for 56 also, but my catalog doesn't go that far). One for F-100-250-350 with 16" wheels only, and another for F-250-350-500-600 with 17" or 20" wheels. Interestingly, it says when installing 20" tires, you're supposed to put 4 rubber spacers between the fender and running board. Those rubber spacers are the same part number as shock absorber insulators, 7RC-18198.

why not modify the frame and bolt a bed on the bigger truck and call it good? why mess around with the rusty f100?
The bigger fenders in my opinion look better anyway.
