Ok so i am looking at buying a 1978 ford f150. The truck is in decent shape with minimal rust. It has a 460 with lifters cam exhaust edelbrock carb intake & air cleaner. it is lifted 3 inches & has 31 on it which seem small to me but hey they have 90% tread. the drivetrain itself has 30,000 miles on it.its full time 4x4 with lock outs. Now this is the only part that worries me is can full times have locking hubs? This is also going to be my first truck purchase as i have previously only driven cars thanks for the insight.

you can change the hubs to unlocked/lockable. lot of people have done it on here. do a search and you will find info on it.
Chances are good the transfer case has been opened up and modified to accept the modification. In most cases if your shifter shows a "lock" position on the shifter, you do the hub mod without modding the transfer case as well, the truck will no longer move without leaving the tcase shifter in the lock position.
My vote is this, if it drives down the road, leave the hood shut except to check water and oil.
