First Upgrades: '06 Dually 4x4 15,000 miles

My truck gets used under 1000 miles per year. It's my toy hauler...and I sold my toys after having twins. However, newest toy is a 15,000lb boat. Towing to lake about 4 times/yr.

For the first time, I am interested in adding Banks Big Hoss package to my truck as I over heated up hills in the hot summer months.

Was hoping coming to this forum, some could help me in the right direction to make the best "brand" choice and to learn if there is a recognized set up I should be looking into.

Thanks for any help. Direction to threads? Thanks.

Recommend finding why the truck overheated since that should not happen. This could be as simple as debris in the radiator or the fan not coming on when it should.

Any increased power package would make the overheating problem worse. Your truck should easily pull the new boat in stock conditon without any overheating issues.

My temp gauge shot up...so I slowed and crawled up the small highway hills...and my temps did drop right back down....so the fan did come on. I am remembering now as I type this. It all worked fine, but I was suprised how the temps hit the red before cooling down. Thought the Banks complete system would keep the temps down and tow better/safer.

I just has $1100 service:
* fluids changed: oil, trans, coolant
* fuel filters changed
* two new batteries

**MODS** I posted in 6.0 diesel form after starting this. Sorry. Thanks.
