I spent 10 years growing up in Shearwater and Eastern Passage, Shearwater was my first choice of postings, still is. I'm AVN as well. As far as how I like it?... I dont lol. Too cold for too much of the year, then it's the bugs, then winter again.

Nothing new, but I just picked up a great condition '96 Jimmy for 300 bucks, gotta replace the freeze plugs and then I'll be able to sell it to buy some much needed parts lol, here's hoping for a quick turnaround!

It's the brass(usually) pressed in plug that sorta resembles a large bottle cap. Sometimes it's called a frost or expansion plug. What it does is protects the block from cracking if the coolant freezes by popping out as the freezing liquid expands, but they can corrode over time and cause large coolant leaks.

it CAN be done with the engine in place, but things need to be moved around. I'd say probably about 6 hours of work depending on how hard the exhaust manifolds are to remove.
