In the bed, I have:

- a trailer hitch that looks like it belongs on an 18-wheeler truck
- a fuel tank from an 18-wheeler truck
- a larger toolbox (used as a trunk)
- a smaller toolbox (for tools)
- two spare wheels

Not much space left in the bed, but I can drive from LA to NYC and only have to stop for fuel once

I thought of using a couple homeless people this year. They won't get hasseled for sleeping in the streets, plus someone to help push me out if I get stuck. LOL JUST KIDDING! I just use a topper, adds just enough weight for my needs.

depending on how many fat chicks you use it will effect yoru MPG, but i consider it a washout when you think about the tire spin your doing away with because of the added weight for traction.

but you need to have them get out when the roads are dry enough for traction or it WILL adversly effect the MPG for sure.

When I lived up north for a few years, in my PSD F350 I used 10 70# sand bags the first winter. The next winter the sand bags were in use on another project, so I (almost) filled 2 plastic 55 gallon drums with water and laid them on their side, strapped down.
Good for about 800#.

I did this every year after... easy to store the drums empty, easy to lift into the bed empty, fill with water in the bed, empty water in the bed, easy to unload the drums empty.

Down South in Katrina Land, we would just stop by the local Home Depot and get a few illegals ..... but it doesn't snow much here.

dead hookers is a good subsitute for illegals, cleaning up the streets at the same time.

i live in the salt belt and i am telling you. snow snow and more snow. pack it down as much as you can. the more snow the better. the MAIN advantage is that when it warms up you dont have to move all the soaked sand bags or the frozen cinder blocks out of the way. you just let that snow melt and keep on truckin

not true. my dump weighs 27,000 empty, and with it's aluminum body, is not very friendly until you put at least a half a load on it.
