540-1500 to replace plugs 07 EB Expedition
This is just a joke. I cannot find a dealer that can give a decent quote to replace the plugs in the this truck. anywhere from 540-1500 in a price. A local shop was more reasonable with 240 base and 80.00 per plug that breaks. Is it that bad of and issue on the 5.4??

Just as a follow up my local shop rocks. He used the pb blast method of filling up the cylinder tubes and let is soak in. Did not break one single plug. Total charge was 338.00. I would have rather done it myself but the risk and time issue prevented me from doing it. They are also scheduled to replace my pass side exhaust manifold that is cracked. I am half tempted to go for a set of shorty headers instead so I don't have to deal with the manifold bs again.
Dealer wanted 1600 to replace pass manifold because they would prob have to replace the head due to bolts breaking off in the aluminum head. My shop 450.00 to replace the same manifold.

According to the dealership and the Ford Engineer the issue I was having was because of the pedal assembly and bad RF interference from the plugs. The resolution was to replace the pedal assembly and the spark plugs. No the issue has never happened again.. BUT at times the Traction control symbol will appear for no apparent reason. Now that its out of warranty I'm not headed down that road again.
I was charged $100 deductable for having a tech look at it... the pedal assembly was covered but the spark plugs were considered a maintenance part...
This will be my last Ford product strictly because of the dealership and customer service from BIG Ford... Dont get me wrong.. i love my vehicle and I also understand all vehicles are not perfect, but at least be considerate to the owners of them and treat them with respect.
The run around BS I went through is just not worth the fight.
The Premium ESP I purchased was not worth it in the end...
