He said at 60-66 mph towing the rig that it would avg 7-8 mpg and on some hills he would use the manual mode to keep it from shifting from 5,6 6,5 ect.. but over all at this weight he was satisfied with the truck... Pretty interesting call since he was at maximum Ford rated weight.
Oh and i think he said he towed from TN to AZ and was heading back in a couple of months... So what are the rest of you guys towing?
I just picked up a 24' Cherokee Grey Wolf toy hauler TT. It weighs about 4600 empty. I was getting 7.5-8mpg depending on how fast I was trying to go(65-75) and how hard that storm through Indiana and Ohio yesterday was beating me up. I ran in manual mode to hold it in fifth because the wind kept gusting so hard it would drop it back to fourth frequently. Just got rid of my '08 6.4 and am VERY impressed with the power of this truck. (3.73) it's definately NOT a diesel, but it does much better than I had anticipated and gets the same towing mileage the diesel did with a similar trailer and in similar conditions. Also found that after 22 hours straight in this thing I was completely comfortable the WHOLE time. Awesome truck!!

If you don't already own one, a cheap harbor freight electric impact will make easy work of those the leveling jacks. I used to use one on my old TT.

yes, the power tongue jack is nice, as is the power awning, and keyless entry! that's a good idea for the stabilizer jacks, I'll probably look into that!

As you get older bending over to crank jacks get to be a pain in the butt. I did the same on our new fifth wheel and got power everything on it. Now I just walk around and push buttons.

If you are concerned with the squatting while towing a TT...IMHO...I wouldn't modify the SD. When towing a TT...it is always recommended to have sway control with weight distribution setup. The weight distribution...transfers weight to the front axle.

Really helps with the NEW SD squat issue. If back goes down 1/2in...and set within specs...the front will go down 1/4" to 1/2".

Just an idea...but you have a really cool looking setup!

thanks, I think it looks pretty good too. The squat isn't really enough for me to get concerned about it. I think tongue weight is just under 700lbs dry. Rides good and the trailer sits mostly levelish, no sway issues
