Surging at idle computer check( at Oreilys) says TPS is faulty. Also using water replaced water pump still leaking. We cannot see any obvious leaks.
Any thoughts. HELP PLEASE

 

TPS is relatively cheap and easy to replace. However, I don't see it as a source of surging.

A lot of times the front cover will leak at its junction with the block, and it can look like the water pump is leaking. This will require replacement of the front cover gasket.

 

Had my 3.0L in the Ford garage on Friday for the same "surge at idle." It was an ignition coil. $418 with the computer diagnosis.
