I got my headers from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard.

1967-79 Full Size Truck/bronco - 429 & 460 Swap Kits - Headers

I went with the chassis exit ones and fit well. The fenderwell exit headers require a little bit of trimming of the inner fender but should fit well from what I've read. The same headers are made from L & L but they are cheaper (at least when I bought mine) through Bronco Graveyard than directly from L & L. If that's what you decide, maybe just call both places and see who offers the better price. When I was doing the research for my swap, I couldn't really find anyone else to offer the 460 swap header for our applications. It may have changed now, I'm not sure. I was impressed with the quality of my chassis exit ones.

Ford Headers, Dodge Headers, Chevy Headers at L&L Products

I had mine coated because the nickel plating just turns yellow, blue, black etc after running for the first time.

does the chassis exit headers require a body lift at all? i read that the fenderwell exit headers you need a 3'' body lift. anyone have pics of there fenderwell ext headers to compare to the chassis exit's? i'd like to see how they differ in the routing of everything

No body lift for chassis exits. I may be wrong, but I thought the body lift was required for the fenderwell exits so you don't have to trim the inner fender. Hopefully others who have done this will chime in.

was reading alittle bit more on the L&L headers i heard of some people having issues with tire rubbing on the headers anyone heard of this or dealing with it? also that chassis exit headers have some exhaust routing problems. would like some more feedback on them before i buy anything how did you's route your exhaust did it make it more difficult to run it or no tire rubbing issues other issues?

no tire rub issues dont exist due to the exhaust is 90% in the frame...mine is like 77Bucks install except not so clean and the L&L headers have one soild flange instead of 4 seperate ones... the exhaust is 3" and runs down bothe sdesis... the passengers is easy theres not much to get in the way...the driver runs down the frame and dips down and tight next to the frame at the t-case mount...then on out back...the body lift helps but is not required.. my truck has ac and it makes changen the plugs so much eiseir...

I have the outboard L&L's on my truck. It's a straight shot back, no pipe routing. If they rub just turn the axles steering stops out some. You don't need a body lift but I already had one. You will have to trim your inner fenders some.

I ran l&l headers on my truck. Very nice header. I had to trim the inner fender a little. They Have a big flange to the head, No header leaks.

Not to hijack the thread but ..........bucks77ford......... You really should get the covers over the holes for the front cab mounts installed on your truck........unless you keep them covered or cleaned out really well, you will rot out the cab mounts.....

I have since put them on.

I just didn't when I took the pic. The truck wasn't on the road yet. But, thanks for noticing and looking out for me.
