I figured I needed to take a break from fiberglass for a while and start block sanding the filler on the bed. It’s been 4 1/2 years since I applied the filler. I think it’s dry by now
I got most of the filler on the outside knocked down. I have to order more sandpaper before I can start on the inside.
My bed dolly worked really good to get it outside.

Looks like progress to me. Got a question about your bed dolly. Are those HF tires? I can’t keep mine inflated and have had to replace 2 inner tubes and one tire just from sitting.

I got them through EBay although they are probably about the same quality as Harbor Freight. I had to add air before pulling it outside. They’ve been on the dolly for probably six months and still had a little air in them.

I wish I’d thought of it before buying these but if I need to make a change then I’m going to buy a junk garden tractor and use the front and back wheels/tires.

Greg,
Those HF air filled tires are not very good. I did buy one new set that is solid. I have about 16 more that need replaced on some of my show equip.
Hey that bed is going to look good. Yea should be dry by now! I like your shop. I need one. I know they can never be big enough, but how do you like it! Any changes you would make?
I like your idea of using old lawn mower tires. Have to think about that, thanks for the idea.
Regards,
Chris

You nailed it Chris! I only wish for more room.I would love to have a side addition where grinding, bodywork, etc. could be done as to keep my tools and other items cleaner.

Well I have no new pictures to post. I’ve been swamped with other projects again. I started back a few days ago. The engine started running rough last fall so I had some real fun getting some issues figured out and it’s now running good again. I changed out the front coil springs to raise it up a bit and I now
have no clearance issues with the fenders. With the weather warming up I’m now hoping to get back to the bed. I really want to drive it this year. My work schedule is ramping up so I need to get some progress done on this truck quick.

Thank you Chris. I picked up some shoulder seatbelts today. Hopefully I’ll get the mounts fabbed up this weekend.

I finally fixed a battery drain issue on my truck. I got the steering shaft u-joint welded on too.

Here's the shoulder belts finally in. I got some tan ones from a Freestyle but I didn't like how they mounted at the top. I got these from a Focus. I'll dye them later.

These are adjustable. I've got the cover for them that I'll use when the interior goes in.

What a productive day!!! Not only did I get the seatbelts finished but I also got my brakes fixed. They had been sticking somewhat and I had to adjust the master cylinder rod.
I also got the adjustable thermostat and relay wired up to the Mark VIII fan. It comes on around 190. This fan is a beast. Small animals may be sucked up if they get too close!

I think I’m finally ready to get started back on blocking the bed.
