Which specific parts are you refering to? The average 1950's vehicle had over 8,000.

 

Where are you at? Many mechanical parts are available at auto parts stores (I have a favorite NAPA store), you just need to find someone who is willing to get out the catalogs and not rely on the computer. Some brake parts and body parts are a bit harder, as used parts take a bit more searching.

Are you speaking of the road draft tube that mounts to the left (drivers) side of the engine block, and is secured with a bolt?
