truck died at idle

I have a 94 f 150 w/302. Today when I started the truck it was idling a little high but that's normal for it because its cold where I live but once it idled down it went right back up and was idling twice as high and then just idled down and died. I started it right back up and it ran fine without any more problems. Has anyone else had this happen before? I figure its a sensor I just don't know which one.

I just replaced the idle air control valve on my 1990 302. The primary symptom was that it would die when coming to a stop. I was able to make it go away for a short time by cleaning the IAC, but it soon returned so I replaced it. The truck runs better than it ever has since I've owned it for 3 years and the gas mileage went from 10 to 13 and its a 4x4, extended cab, long bed. Lots of truck, and weighs a full 5000 pounds.

Just remove it and spray throttle body or carb cleaner in it, and then dump it out. Do this a few times.

I agree the cleaning them usually just is a temporary fix.
