eaton 6 speed or spicer 6+1??

eaton 6 speed or spicer 6+1??

which is a better trans?? the extra gear much different than the 6 speed??

I've never driven either, but as a rule of thumb, in my opinion, Eaton makes better transmissions than spicer.

Cheaper parts
simpler design
longer service life

But.. Like I said Ive never seen or used either.

I have the eaton 6 sp(direct 6th gear) in my truck.
It works fine in mine. I have no knowledge of the spicer unit

I'm betting the extra gear might be some sort of low hole. You'd have to know the exact model number, and then find out what the ratios of each tranny are.
