Gale Banks V10 exhaust

Has anyone put a set of Gale Banks TorqueTube headers and Y pipe on their truck? Looking to get rid of the breaking factory exhaust stud problem, and improve the Y pipe.

What is your opinion? Good, bad???

Thanks

There is a thread on here by another member who replaced his stock system with banks. He really likes it and has pictures. Do some research for the thread. type in gale banks exhaust or some similar.
As far as my opinion goes. once my warrenty runs out I will get the Gale banks system and replace all but the cats.

The members name is Pinky Demon. If you find a post of his, he has a direct link to his install with pictures and a write up on it.

Gale Banks is the only company that make headers for the van V-10.
It seems that every time I get close to having the wherewithal to get them something comes up and there goes the luxury bucks.
One Day, Oh Yeah, One Day they will be mine.

Banks only makes headers for the 2V trucks. If you have an 05 or later you're out of luck.

I have a set of stainless steel headers I found off ebay coming right now. Only paid 160 for them. I plan to redo the entire exhaust mainly the very restrictive factory y pipe. Just got the high flow cat today and my 3" stainless tubing came into work last week

Anyone else have any long term experience with Banks headers or exhaust, would like to hear good or bad comments. Thanks

In my experience, Banks headers are good quality with thick flanges. Mufflers are also good quality but they are the worst mufflers for sound quality because they have the most annoying drone you can imagine.

Im just now installing the Banks powerpack on my 2001 V10...60,000 miles. I had 4 broken, 2 on each side, got all out but the one on drivers side rear top. Ended up making a plate to bolt on last 2 exhaust holes to guide my drill and drilled it and installing Time-Sert thread repair i would never use a helicoil for this. Anyway so far the banks system is going on nicely.. looks like its worth every penney so far, Very well built and made in USA

Same issue with me...everytime I save up for headers, boom, something happens and I have to spend the money. Now I have to replace the broken studs. Unfortunatly sock exhaust manifolds are going back on. But this summer I will be putting a better y pipe in place.

I think the Banks Mufflers sound pretty good. Different strokes and all, but I like the milder yet strong, crisp rumble they produce.
