Thats pretty much what i figured. The guy at the tire shop said the opposite. Been trying to find a good deal but tires are just expensive. Probably just going to get bfg's again.

Kelly = bridgestone bottom of the barrel. I worked at a shop that installed kelly semi truck tires, and i would not recommend them

generals are what the OE puts on new trucks now. Decent as far as handling, but dont last for crap. 25k for a street tire.

My only experiance w/ dunlop is their mud rovers, and i LOVED em. they dug ruts 1.5' deep and kept the truck movin forward. Cant say anything about how they last or wear though, wasnt my truck.

What I run and would recommend to anyone are the Dayton Timberline series, I have the ATs. Good wear, and great traction on and off road. Even in WI winters

I got a little hookup from onlinetires. Are these the ones you like? They are pretty reasonably priced.

Sorta.... About 4 years ago dayton changed the tread pattern on the timberline AT. The tires there are advertised as the new tread pattern (the ATII) but the pic is of their old tread pattern. This is what the new ones should look like:

Could always look into mastercraft they are decently priced and good tires.

You want a really good mud tire the best I ever ran were some dunlop mud rovers or firestone MT's. Both were pretty equal and I liked them alot.

Especially seeing how I paid like $700 for four 235/85-16E Generals... Not like I regret it tho, them are some nice tires.

The kid at the tire shop tho swears by Hercules tires, he's got them on a 6.0 F250 SD and seeing them in action through a nasty field with lotsof mud, snow, and ruts, I tend to believe him that they have good traction and strength - not sure on life tho, and he ain't had them that long that he can have an opinion in that department...

My truck originally came with General Ameriway XT tires. All I can say is they there are not a very good tire. They were barely acceptable for wet traction. I hate cheap tires. I have never seen one that was worth buying unless it was for a spare. I also feel the tires are not the place to be cheap.

I run BFG ATs on mine and will not run anything else, unless I had to. Then it would be Michelin LTX MS.
