1988 F-350 Steering Column Diagram Request
Hey everybody.
I really need a steering column diagram for an '88 F-350. I'm 99% sure that this is a non-tilt truck, but I haven't had the truck for very long, so I could be wrong. PLEASE help me out here. I'll take any help I can get.
For those of you who are curious, here's some more info:
Truck 2wd '88 F-350 Crewcab dually longbed with a 460 and a C6. Love the truck, but I tried to start it earlier and couldnt. I put the key in the ignition and turned it like usual. I heard a "click" or "pop" sound and I knew that there was a problem. When turning the key, in order for the truck to be in "Run" (fuel pump on, acc power, etc), the key has to be turned all the way forward to the usual "Start" position. Key cannot be turned further. Replaced lock cylinder, but I still have the same issue.
I took the steering wheel off and started to disassemble the rest of the column, but I really need a diagram to see what's what and to help spot any broken, missing or out of place parts.
Question: I read that only the tilt wheel trucks have an actuator rod. How do the non-tilt trucks work if there is no rod between the cylinder and the start switch?
For the record, here are a few of the threads I've already viewed on the subject:

I need to replace my ignition actuator on my 90 F150 as well. NAPA stocks them on their shelves for 14 bucks. Take a look at this page. While it's not exactly the same year, the concept is right and the parts are very similar.
