Yes, it should work just fine as long as it's not a cluster with idiot lights instead of gauges.

I've done the swap twice before, once on my old 83 F-100 and on this F-250. Both times I just added the tach to my existing cluster along with circuit paper that came from the donor cluster. It's cheaper to snag the tach and circuit paper from the J-yard than to take the whole cluster.

I finally got my dash put back together with my new(used) J-yard trim. I had to swap some indicator icons and repaint the silver edging but it was worth it. As a bonus I now have all the mounting tabs.

I got the radio trim panel as well since I was having to use large washers to hold it on and it was splitting around the clock buttons.

Here's the gauges at night, with white bulbs, no covers and the case interior painted silver. I think it looks pretty good, but next time I remove the cluster I may swap in some blue bulbs just to see how it is.

That's a beautiful job on the gauges Sycostang

I am now inspired, I've got a grey interior with a black dashpad that the white gauges would complement very well.

Thankyou for this post and the step by step

Well Ive jumped into painting my gauges white also. As we speak Im letting the gauges dry. I checked out that site with the white panel for the hvac unit but it dont have the markings for the iar conditioning just the heat. Anyone know of one that shows the A/C? I will post pictures once I get it all back together...

Nice work, it's fun painting those little needles huh? I stuck a Q-tip under them so they wouldn't flex too much and cause me to accidentally get orange on the face.

Yes, the lines and numbers are raised.

No it wasn't really that hard. If I happend to slip with the marker, I would just dip a toothpick in some white and cover it up. The needles on the smaller guages are a little difficult to paint since they bend so easily.

You need to find a factory tach to finish out your cluster, of course I have only seen one diesel tach at the j-yard before and it had melted due to a dash fire. I'm thinking they might be pretty rare or they are all still on the road.

Try listing in the WTB classifieds on FTE. Uncle Stosh has a bunch of stuff and makes regular JY runs, so if he doesn't have one, he could keep an eye out for you. Might try PMing him. I'll keep my eye out for one for you as well.
