I picked this cab up a few years ago locally to where I live, the guy had it sitting in his front yard for sale for years ,he was asking $500.00 for it and had a few guys said they wanted it but never returned to buy it .So one day I stopped by and offered him $300.00 for it and he said it's yours, came with a rust free front clip as well 1978

I'll give you 350.00 for it. What's with the bump box? I'd almost consider working out a deal with my 66. Providing it had the correct box. I'd put an earlier grill on it though.

As for my 75 project not much happening. Considering a 351 for power at the moment. Just need to see how the one handy runs.

I gave this truck to my son as a Father Son project, we will be working on it when my shop is done and we will be building one of my custom sled decks for it. Box floor is pretty bad but the sides are in decent shape may hang onto this box for the 67 Mercury 4x4 I have.

Got the truck moved down to the wreckers yesterday. Going to pull everything off and drop on the donor cab and box then bring it back home. It will be a lot easier to putter with it that way.

I'm thinking of another engine. Had one in mind but it seems to have failed the test. The wrecker owner keeps putting ideas in my head about this and that, so more possibilities spin in my mind.

He gave me a couple patch panels for the box. That will solve the rust issues around the wheel wells.

A truck with a so so cab but a strong sounding engine.

Houston we have a problem. I decided today that I was going to get the box ready to come off. In the process I noticed I have a rusted rear shock mount. I didn't look any further for more.

I can trade my truck for a 78-79. I don't know for sure what the exact year is but it has the rectangle headlights. Not a big deal because I can use my 75 grill. It seems to have a strong engine. With this truck I would have the better power steering and stronger transfer case.

Sounds like a '79, pretty sure the '78's had square headlight doors with round lights? Either way...sounds like a dilemma. I traded my '75 CC 4x4 for some parts a couple of years ago but it had the goofy closed-knuckle-hydraulic-steering. The PO had adapted an NP208 to the 4-speed.

The XLT and Larait switched to the rectangular headlights in 78. The rest in 79.

I'll sleep on it tonight and know what I'm going to do before I get there in the morning.

Well yesterday something actually got done.

Going to have to replace the two rear shock mounts, only one is bad but might as well do both at the same time. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw with the box removed.

Oh man! You're making me want to do a frame off on my Galaxy.

Great project. That's a nice bone yard. Where's it at? Any chance of a 67 Galaxy there?

Oh wait. Just saw the BC location there. Never mind. That'd be a long drive for a few spares. Haha!
