Not saying it is, just that until we see some time slips the random video postings are basically worth nothing.

Well guys,I have had both. A 07 Tundra reg cab with 5.7 {380 hp}and 4.30 gears.I now have a 2011 F150 with 5.0 {360 hp}reg cab with 3.73 gears. The tundra is a little quicker but not much. The F150 gets a little better MPGs.I was disapointed with the fact that the Tundra down shifted a lot while crusing on the interstate. With 4.30 gears it should have not have done this. The Ford does not.In fact I was very suprised how in has the torque to keep it moving up a hill with out downshifting.Good job ford.

When you see a Toyota 5.7 running 8 sec. 1/4's in anything, let me know. I want to know more about that. 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with mild mods and 24PSI:

I know that. It has 10:1 Diamond pistons, and Carrillo rods at least. But most of the engine is all Ford! Lets not forget, this engine was only out for a couple months when this car hit the 8's. That's impressive. I was one of the first members on SVTPerformance.com, and was a moderator there in the early days. Then I sold my L.....

Now that we've seen them, we can say that the new 5.0 is every bit as fast as the Tundra 5.7 stock for stock.

Pickuptrucks.com just posted quicker acceleration times with their 5.0 SuperCrew 4x4 than they did with their like equipped 5.7 Tundra. The 5.0 actually ran the 1/4 within a hundredth of their like-equipped 6.2-powered Chevy truck.

The 5.0 is the overachiever in the line-up, IMO.

not to sound like a old fart but i got my truck to pull the family toys around and last a Long time doing it. i think racing has its merits and dose help develop better motors, transmissions, and even better aromatics. as for ford -V- Toyota i like Toyota but i cant seem to give up that part of me that wants to support my country and be a god fearing American who cant stand to see use selling are selfs shot buy buying foreign. i know most Toyota's are made here but god dam the head office is in japan and guess where 99.9% of all the profit goes. thats right not to help out the homeless on the the streets of America but to some rich over payed jap who treats his wife like a slave. i am not a raciest skin head ether i just think we need to keep our country our's! sorry but thats just how i think!

What a joke... cheaply imitated junk engineering VS a ford...

Toyota trucks used to have a well knowledeged following, and for a long while had a place in the market.... Now the only people buying them are guys that think that the technology is "better"

The toyota 5.7 fell apart for years until customers whined enough.... you could almost call toyota's 5.7' similar to ford's 6.0 ... not every one failed, but most did.

Engine aside, like let's just pretend for a minute that the toyota 5.7 was better than ford engines, the toyota truck isn't even in the same class as ford trucks.

Go drive a cheap junk toyota or kia, then go rip around in a ford car, and the difference is easy to feel.

Are we all morons? Toyota probably sells more vehicles here, than in asian countries!!! China is buying more fords than ever !!!

I actually think ford's 3.5 ecoboost will top any of these trucks. I know it doesn't have massive HP, but it is strong steady power. Stock for stock, there aren't many trucks that beat it "hands down"

Unless you sit there and spool the turbos while waiting for the green light, I think the 3.5L may be a little slower on launch than the 5.0L / 5.7L.

6.2 vs ecoboost - YouTube

The 6.2 makes a little headway at first, but really the eco boost holds up pretty close.
