2000 Excursion with 7.3L...

Today the truck had been running for a couple hours. Got out to do something and when I got back in I put the trans in reverse and the gages died except the tach. Stepped on the pedal and no response (engine still idling). Then the tach died after 10 seconds. Shut the truck off. Turned key on and all I have is a battery light and airbag light nothing else. Engine will crank (with no tach indication) and run for 1 second and quit. Any thoughts?

Would CPS cause the electrical problem?

Got the following codes
P1139 Water in fuel circuit error
P0381 Glow plug indicator circuit error
P1260 Theft detected, vehicle immobilized
P1670 EF feedback signal not detected

These are listed in order of detection. I had a water in fuel problem a few months back that was fixed so I don't think it is applicable...

I also have Superchips towsafe installed with about 80,000 miles driven since...

 

Sounds like the wire going to the shifter could be rubbing. Should be fuse #19 on your truck. Check this pdf.

 

Hey I think that might be it...my fuse #19 is blown which controls

Instrument cluster, GEM module, Overdrive Cancel Switch, PATS transceiver, Idle Validation Switch

Seems to match the codes too.
