I give up. I quit, After all the HPOP lines and pumps and sh--tuff i've had to do to this damned thing in the last month and 1/2 guess what.
I have one of Ziggy's angry midgets in my NEW TRANNY! yep, 3700 miles and it hammering away in any gear but 4th(direct) It sounds like a tooth broke or something on the countershaft.. I'll call Midwest in the morning and see what kind of a turn around time Dan can come up with. Any good shops in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that would do a tranny swap. simple, no clutch, just dump the old and install the new.
On a more positive note the blasted thing is running like a champ! 700 miles since all the HPOP issues and its running great. last tank of fuel was 1 mpg better than average.
I don't know what I did to **** off the PS Gods but I'm gettin real fed up with this blasted thing
now I think I'm going to get drunk!

I've decided that every time I feel like I've got bad luck all I need to do is read your latest update and suddenly things don't seem so bad. Hopefully they can get a new tranny on it's way to you pretty quick.

Thanks Jim. Makes me really sit back and question myself. My trucks not a POS. I stay on top of the maintenance. When something is wearing out I always do the research and try to buy the best stuff cause I do "live" in my truck. Its really making me scratch my head.
I think I've donated enough Knuckle skin to the PS gods that they would be pleased, evidently not.LOL

im right there with you. last two months with my truck have given me hell and my wallet hell. Whats worse is i havent worked since last year

 

Bummer Barney, I'm dealing with 3 issues now, a haunted compressor, pass. door actuator and a very slight roaring sound coming from under the rear of the truck. Too freakin cold to mess with right now but wish you luck bro..

 

Any luck with Matt, Barney? I can keep digging around if you like. Hell, if the timing is right, maybe we can work out something. In the last month, I've been co-mechanic pulling a front wheel drive trans to replace a clutch, and yesterday we tore the bottom out of a 4R70W in my Roomie's F150 to replace the EPC solenoid & install a TransGo. Let me know where you end up (I'm in North Fort Worth) -- at least we can hook up and we can offer a few brain cells together up to the PSD Gods....

 

I didn't think Matt was in Weatherford anymore? He was my first thought too, but I don't know what it would be like with the down time waiting on the new tranny.

 

Not sure, Chris. I know the Chief used him for some work not that long ago, so I got the number from him. I'm sure we can find someone to tackle this..... If I had the time, I'd pull it on base & use the Auto Craft shop there.
